EMBODIED THERAPY

Individual, Group
& Community Sessions

the first step

A discovery call is a free 15-30 minute zoom or phone session where we can chat about what you are seeking. During this time we can ask each other questions that support our understanding in if we are the right fit for each other.

A discovery call isn’t required for birth chart readings, and is recommended for therapeutic sessions.

co-creating together

Before beginning our first session, we complete some brief paperwork together, where we can also decide some safe themes and/or activities to begin our therapeutic journey with.

These may include mindfulness, guided embodiment, creative play, skill-building or psychoeducation.

As we grow our relationship, we co-create a space together based on enquiries, intentions & structures, as well as what is present for you in the moments of each session.

Many find guided prompts to be supportive, and others find comfortability in “emergent” sessions.

an insight into
creative psychotherapy

You don’t need creative “skills” to experience the benefits
of art-making — here’s why:

When we are making art — no matter what the art looks like — the process innately activates parts of our brain & body in ways that using words does not.

This is significant because when we experience trauma, the part of our brain responsible for verbal functioning shuts down, leaving the non-verbal part of our brain to absorb the memory. As indigenous science & now the West understand, our trauma is also stored in our bodies.

Creative psychotherapy is thus a process of enquiry & support that embraces these natural physiological responses. It balances non-clinical mental health approaches with integration of the senses, and our natural capacity to heal through creating.

Even if our art-making does not look as we seek it to, the capacity for embodied understanding & mind-body healing is always present.
